Reducio!
Over the past week I received my first Reducio Swap #9 package! It’s the cutest thing, all things mini!
My spoiler was Madrigal a.k.a. Isisonearth on Ravelry.
Everything in the package is great, I really love everything Madrigal put together. Just look at this Unity Turtle! My new familiar
I really enjoyed this “mini” swap, I look forward to joining it next round. My OWL was sent off early morning on Saturday, I can’t wait for my Reducio spoilee to get her package!
Onto some “on the needles” news, I’m doing a test knit for Woolgirl, and received this luscious Yowza skein in Mis Babbs yarn to knit with. I’m knitting Balsam, a cowl.
I’m about 85% done with the cowl, it’s a long cowl pattern. I’ll share pics with it probably on Tuesday of this week. I plan to send this one off early this week. Such lovely yarn and you get 560 yds. in one skein! 2 skeins can make you a nice sweater or cardigan! You can’t beat those savings!
What else is going on? Well, I’m interviewing at my job, need to find a replacement for my co-worker, who is off to start a new marriage in San Diego, so that’s been interesting. Besides knitting the Balsam, I’ve also been putting together my package for my HLBOES spoilee too, which is due by end of March. There is one sort of mega item I need to make, but the pattern is taking forever to come, I’m really hoping it comes this week. I want to make this package extra special. I have lots of HPKCC homework to do, so there will be some crazy knitting/crocheting this week, ooh, and of course my OWL project, and then trying to get HLBOES stuff done too! I was going to compete in the Ravelympics, but I didn’t keep on top of things so I never really got anything together. Oh well, next time 8( I’ll be posting midweek with some new projects and news

Mittens and Magical Things
I’ve been quite busy working and trying to get other projects done. As I’ve said prior, I’ve had a secret project that I’ve been working on, or rather really a number of private ones. Each one has progress, but none yet ready to really share. To elaborate a little, I’ve been writing, and am working towards a complete manuscript, hopefully one day I’ll have something in published form. I’ve also been putting together a business plan for my Etsy site, which I plan to have ready by summer time. I’m pretty excited about the Etsy endeavor, I’m really going to start it up. I’m also working on more patterns of my own design. The designing for me takes time, first because I have to form the image of what I want to make and then because everything else gets in the way, and of course, knitting as well. Oh, and I have did some test knitting, which I do enjoy, for some of my favorite designers. One I can share, are the Clepsydra mittens from Through The Loops Kirsten Kapur.
These are so pretty, and I really enjoyed knitting them.
I can’t wait to wear these out to a Reno adventure!
And I had made these for Svendel in the Twilight Breaking Dawn swap last year, and loved them. So I made me a pair, just cause I couldn’t get them off my mind and it counted as Divination homework for the HP Knitting and Crochet House Cup group on Raverly. They are “Bella’s Fingerless Gloves”.
Oooh, and the magical things I’ve been making, pretty much all Harry Potter themed…here’s a tidbit to share. This was homework for the Hogwarts A Little Bit of Everything on Ravelry, the History of Magic Gryffindor Reducio Scarf bookmark.
I love making all things magical!

My Tux
As I said prior, I started knitting the “Mina’s Tuxedo Vest” last week out of the Custom Knits book, which I absolutely love. I’ve already finished the back and am knitting the front shoulders. I’m enjoying the pattern, and the techniques.
Oooh! I was also able to bring my camera back to life!!! Yay! So, here you go, some early pics of my “Mina’s Tuxedo Vest”.
What yarn is that? Remember? It’s Sundara Yarn in one of my favorite colors “Spiced”.
You see where I picked up the Provisional Cast On? It is noticeable, but it’s a nice transition, this cast on is interesting, you cast on using any normal long-tail cast on, but you use your working yarn and scrap yarn. You loop the scrap yarn around your thumb and hold the working yarn on the index finger, and begin looping on your stitches. What you’ll see is your working yarn as the live stitches, and the scrap yarn will be the chain on the bottom. It was pretty cool to try, my first time using this method. It’s also a trip to unravel and pick up stitches because the stitches pick up a bit differently than other methods. I’m aiming at getting this done this week, and guess what?!? I have a super special friend who is the sweetest thing, she sent me blocking wires as a bday present last week! I’ll be soaking some of my knits to block and then I’ll share the FO love *-)
Thank you to Cheryl, you rock girl!
I’ll be back later this week!

It’s that time again…
…my birthday. This will be my 2nd year celebrating my birthday where I’m a knitter. It seems like a very long time now that I’ve been knitting, but really it isn’t. I’ve moved on quite alot from knitting to dyeing to spinning to crocheting to designing.
I truly do love the art of knitting and all the wonderful people that have become my friends through knitting that I might not have met otherwise.
My day will be low key, nothing going on, one day I’ll really celebrate.
Tomorrow is my *Happy Day”, officially
p.s.
Oh yah, isn’t this cake awesome! I found a pic on the net, and I just fell in love with it.
Family Day at SF49ers!
Where the hell have I been?!? Busy, Busy, Busy, is all I can say! Phew! I can say there has definitely been knitting happening, including a last minute baby knit that I need done by this Saturday! I’m practically done with my Karma Tank, only need about 2 more inches and the straps, and voila!, I’ll have a gorgeous summer tank! I’ll post pics this week, promise! I also have an emergency baby knit that has halted progress on my Karma Tank. It’s the cutest little dress I’m knitting with Sundara Yarn Silky Aran in Cotton Candy! OOHHH! This yarn is freakin’ luscious!
For now, I’ll share a few pics from my day at the San Francisco 49ers Family Day @ Candlestick the other weekend. We had a blast!
