Look at all those goodies, and do you see that Frankenstein stitch marker made by Wee Ones? Totally cute. The yarn colors are cool and perfect for Franken Socks. It’s 1 skein of Mis Babs Superwash Merino 100% wool, hand-painted yarn in colorway “Yummy” with accompanying color for the heel, 133 yds.

Here’s a few more pics of the goodies:

Ok a new venture I’m taking on lately, knitting jewelry. I’m trying recreate a gorgeous bracelet I received from Gherkin on Ravelry. So far, so good, check out my progress:

Knitted Bracelet

It doesn’t look like much yet, but when I’m done I’ll form the beads to look sit nice and then add the clasp to close it. See the original, to the right?

I have so much more to share in the coming days, I’m now in high-gear for swaps, KALs, Fall knitting and yes, GIFT knitting 8)

Lesson Learned

A lesson learned indeed. I have common sense, and my common sense did tell me “Don’t save your credit card!” “Don’t be lazy, enter it manually!”…what am I ranting about? Well, I do alot of shipping for either my swap packages or my Traveling Scarves group, and so on, so I try to make my shipping tasks as convenient as possible. These past 2 weeks I had alot of packages to send out, and I was on USPS.com and because I had more than 3 packages to print shipping labels for at one time, I saved my credit card info so I wouldn’t have to manually enter it for each shipping label. I thought “It’s USPS, it should be ok”. Well Friday evening while I was knitting at about 10 p.m., I got an email alert. I went to look at my checking account and found purchases at USPS.com for items I didn’t charge, all equaling over $300! I immediately called my bank, canceled my card, and so on. I’ve been on a “cash only” basis for the past week since my account is all messed up, nothing I can do until the fraudulent items hard post to my account. Right now, it’s just in a pending state. It’s pending alright, pending my A**, I can’t use my account, pay invoices I have from PayPal, nothing. It’s a lesson learned, no saving the card anymore. Phew! Ok, I’m done, got that off my back.

Onto my therapy, yes 8-) my therapy.

I received my Christmas 2008 Swap package, and it is a wonderful Christmas package indeed!
My secret spoiler is HarlemQueen on Ravelry.

Christmas 2008 Swap from Harlemqueen

She knitted me a beautiful Santa dishcloth, a cute white bag cozy, filled with my FAVE Chai Tea, 1 skein of Blue Sky Alpaca 100% Organic cotton in Black, 1 Angel bell ornament (totally pretty), 4 of the most glamorous beads I’ve ever seen, and 1 Statue of Liberty ornament (I’m in love with this one, I’ve never been to New York, I dream of it, and this is just the sweetest closest thing to it), and 1 wrapped “don’t open until Christmas” present (already nestled under my tree). Thank you HARLEMQUEEN!

Another great package came, and that is my “Peppermint Patty” kit from Woolgirl. I love the yarn colors and all the contents, especially the candy cane tape measure.

Contents are: 400yds. fingering weight of Miss Babs Peppermint Patty, a mini-skein of Miss Babs Red, 1 candy cane stitch marker, 1 candy cane tape measure, 1 peppermint chocolate cocoa, peppermint pattie chocolates, candy cane mints, Peppermint Patty lip balm & cream, and a knitting pouch.

Last, but not least, I received my Snowman Stitch Markers I won on the Nautical Knitter’s blog, thank you!!!

In other news, I’ve been teaching myself how to knit faster without a cable needle doing cables, links for this given to me from a good friend Devotion2Knit. She gave me the link to Grumperina’s instructions on this. It’s been challenging and I’m fighting off that “bad taste” in my mouth for this project, I need to get this done. I’ve done a few repeats with the new method, and this is about as far as I’ve gone, doesn’t seem like much difference from the other day, but it is moving along.

Che' Hat

Well now I gotta go and continue knitting this beanie, wish me luck!

It’s Fall Charlie Brown

I got my “It’s Fall Charlie Brown” Woolgirl Kit! Yay! It is my most favorite thus far of all the kits I’ve ordered from Woolgirl. I’ll share, but first…

For my Falling For Ewe Swap:
Do you like football? Who is your favorite team?

So first, is “Do I like football?” even a question! I love football, and am a total fanatic with the game! I won’t leave my Direct TV service because they have the NFL ticket, which I have automatically renew yearly. I love the NFL ticket, you see every game on Sundays. Football is one of the many things my hubby and I share and look forward to every season. We always plan for our Football Sundays to make sure we can comfortably watch the games. In fact, since this is my first official Fall season ever knitting, I’m starting to realize that I’m having to choose football over my knitting. I still knit during the games, but boy is it hard, especially when its a good game. Plus I have a knit along I’m supposed to be attending every Sunday, but I can’t because I’m at home watching football. I’ve now learned to knit my easy projects during games, cause I literally tried knitting my SofSIII a couple weeks ago, and boy was that a mistake. I had to TINK like crazy.

Onto my team, which is the San Francisco 49ers. I had high hopes for this season, especially after the first few games, but now am just upset because the team is regressing again, and repeating the same mistakes as they have in the last few years. We have the talent and tools to win the game, but the play calling and coaching just aren’t cutting it. Mike Nolan (head coach) just can’t seem to keep the guys motivated through an entire 4 qtrs. of the game. If we continue at this rate through the end of this season, I know Nolan will be canned. There has been no real improvement with the team, and I bet if he’s canned they put Mike Martz in his place, wouldn’t be surprising. I just don’t get it sometimes. I’m still a 49er Faithful at heart, and will continue to support and cheer on during games.. if only the golden days would return 8)

…and now “It’s Fall Charlie Brown”
As I was saying, this is my total favorite kit to date! Maybe it’s because of the colors?? Or just cause Charlie Brown is just a cutie? The colors are so pretty and totally me in every way. The minute I opened the package I was just in ahh of it, and didn’t want to unpack it cause it looked so pretty in it’s packaged state. I LOVE LOVE this knitting bag! Can I say more??? So, without further adoo, since I’ve strung you on this long, here are the goodies:

Falling for Ewe with Eye Candy

I’ll combine 2 posts, first I’ll answer my Falling For Ewe Question of the Week #4.. just a tad late 8)

What do you plan on dressing up as for Halloween? If you are not dressing up, what will your kids be?

This year all the family is dressing up, my hubby hasn’t decided on what he’ll be, but I think he should be dressed up as a Army Drill Sgt., he sure can be commanding.. that’s my taunting nickname for him when he’s getting under my skin *-). My daughter will be a Hobo, which means she can just dress like any other day (joking), she dresses nice, but you know, she’s a teen and in that stage of really defining her style. She looks so pretty when she puts her outfits together. Sadly my son will probably only be wearing some freaky mask, as he currently has braces, and doesn’t want to do any “Trick O’ Treating” because he can’t eat candy. Lastly for me, I’m knitting me something special, which I’ll show soon.. for now, it’s a secret *-) I usually dress up as a Witch, this year I’ll be making a change.

And now for the Eye Candy…just in time for Friday!

I received another one of Woolgirl’s fab kits “Woodstock”. It’s so cool! It has all kinds of nostalgic candy from the 60’s era, before I was thought of 8) The Teeny Weeny Woodstock stitch marker, is so damn cute, and the little knitting bag is my fave! I love knitting bags!

I was browsing some Etsy stores, and came across Butterfly Girl Designs, and OMG! She has the most luscious fiber! and Spindles might I add! I’ll need to score me some! I couldn’t resist the Monarch fiber, I bought 3.3 oz. and it is I tell you, the softest fiber. I’m just totally in love with it. I swear I sat and petted it when I first got the shipment.

There are three layers in these batts: black superwash merino, orange/yellow variegated bamboo and an orange superwash merino

Contents: 67% superwash merino, 33% bamboo
